I have been very lucky to travel to many wonderful places over the years. My trips usually aren’t the most relaxing as I like to keep busy and see what is out there. I Anytime I leave town I bring my camera with me to capture what I see. Sometimes I will have the D-SLR with full gear and other times just a point and shoot camera. No matter what, I always have a great time and bring back some great photo memories.
After a wonderful Thanksgiving, it was time for a trip to one of my favorite Texas State Parks, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. I have visited Enchanted Rock many times since high school and the massive granite dome keeps me coming back. This recent trip was planned with a few friends wanting to get away for the weekend. The plan was to meet in Boerne and head over to Fredericksburg on Saturday after we fully digested our Thanksgiving dinners. As the day drew closer my E-Rock compatriots had to bow out from making the trip. Holidays are always hard to schedule around, but we all agreed to plan a future camping trip. I hadn’t been out to Lost Maples since childhood, so I decided to go down there this weekend for an overnight trip. I had been watching the reports from the park and the colors are starting to show up, but it will probably be a few more weeks before there’s orange and red everywhere. I still enjoyed a great weekend camping in a great Texas park. Read more »
On my way to Lake Buchanan, I visited Longhorn Caverns State Park. It’s one of the few river-formed caverns in Texas. Apparently I had been here before some 25 years ago. I only remember going to Inks Lake. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours and was quite fun. Read more »
